Programmed
Maintenance Painting is a system which provides for newly painted
surfaces to be serviced and sectionally repainted at yearly intervals
to maintain the protective paint film. The system contrasts with
the traditional practice of painting surfaces and then leaving them
untouched for some years until the paintwork has deteriorated to
the stage where extensive preparation is needed before repainting
can be carried out. In many instances, without regular attention,
the underlying building materials are damaged by corrosion and weathering
resulting in expensive building repairs.
Maintenance
programmes are tailored to suit the individual requirements of each
painted area. Considerable attention is given to selecting the correct
paint specification and the scope of annual servicing to ensure
that the paintwork is kept in sound condition thereby enabling it
to perform its dual function of protecting and enhancing the appearance
of the building.
In addition to surface protection, programmed maintenance painting
ensures that a building looks its best at all times. Surfaces are
carefully prepared prior to the initial painting, which is carried
out by a sufficiently large number of skilled tradesmen to ensure
that the minimum disruption to business takes place. This contrasts
with the piece-meal approach often adopted when a small number of
staff painters are employed. The annual maintenance services ensure
that a high standard of appearance is maintained throughout the
term of the programme.
To
enable complex projects to be undertaken efficiently, the Company
utilities specialised equipment such as high-pressure water-blasters,
sand-blasting units and the most advanced application and access
equipment.
Programmed
maintenance painting substantially reduces expensive preparation
and repair work often required when painted surfaces have been left
untouched for a number of years. Under our system the intervals
between complete repainting can be extended and the full life-expectancy
of the surface coating realised.
Over
30 years of painting experience ensures that the most cost-effective
system is proposed, in terms of nominated coatings, method of surface
preparation and paint application.
Payments
for programmed maintenance painting can be spread evenly over the
full period of the Agreement instead of being concentrated in the
years when the repaints are carried out. This system not only assists
cash flow and allows accurate budgeting of future maintenance costs,
but also provides a positive guarantee of high quality workmanship,
as the cumulative value of the work done always exceeds the cumulative
value of the index-linked payments made.
